Our friends over at Politico just let it be known that Newt Gingrich has recently made a pledge -- a pledge he initially wouldn't sign. A pledge that may make a couple of folks snicker.Seems as though Newt is ready to make a pledge to be faithful to his wife. This is at least per his pledge to the Iowa social conservative group The Family Leader. The group released this pledge in July. read more

Chuck Todd, NBC News: “The most important things I’ve learned from the South Carolina and the Florida Republican primary polls are the fact that if there is one piece of good news for Mitt Romney it’s that Ron Paul hanging out in the race does take more votes from Newt if it becomes a one-on-one. And Romney needs all the help he can get to lower the winning margin. Paul, at least in South Carolina, seems to take more from Newt than he does from Romney. And the second is: Half of Gingrich supporters say their top second choice is Romney.” read more
