St. Bernard Parish President Guy McInnis, said there are 32,000 residents without power in Louisiana as Hurricane Ida hits the region. McInnis said the wind is “relentless” and urged residents to stay inside. Despite flooding, McInnis explained that the major protection for Parish will not overtop but outside of the protection system, ring levees protecting fishing communities have been overtopped.
