Even after President Joe Biden signed an executive order putting forth a 100-day deportation freeze, Rep. Ritchie Torres
(D-NY) has been fiercely calling out ICE for moving forward to deport DACA-eligible Javier Castillo Maradiaga as soon as Monday morning. Rebecca Press, who represents Maradiaga and is the Legal Director for UnLocal, says there’s been back and forth over whether or not he would be departed since Thursday, saying, “When the miscommunication has frankly life or death consequences or devastating impacts on families, that communication cannot be allowed to occur.” Rep.
