Congress has reached a bipartisan deal to restore lower interest rates on federally subsidized college student loans. The rates on federally subsidized Stafford Loans had doubled from 3.4 percent to 6.8 percent on July 1. Under the deal rates will go down to 3.8 percent for undergraduates and 5.4 percent for graduate students. NBC’s Mark Murray joins NewsNation to discuss how the deal went down.July 18, 2013
