Congressman on Syria: Worst thing for America is not to act

Secretary of State John Kerry issued a statement on Syria saying that the use of chemical weapons by the Assad regime and the involvement of Hezbollah threatens a political settlement. The White House announced that it will begin providing rebel forces with small arms. Representative Eliot Engel, D-NY, reacts with MSNBC’s Alex Witt. He comments on the victory of Hassan Rohani as the new President of Iran and how that will impact diplomacy. Engel notes, that “…the West is sitting on its hands while the bad guys get all the weapons.”  He also states that  the worst thing for America to do is not to act, however, there is “no guarantee” that the small arms will not fall into the hands of Al-Qaeda.
