Attack on voting rights
The one thing we know about gerrymandering is that because of the process, it's the lawmakers who chose the voters and not the other way around. Another way for politicians to choose the people who vote for them is by suppressing votes through legislation like voter ID laws. MSNBC host Rev. Al Sharpton, also founder and president of the National Action Network, is leading a march beginning today from Selma, Alabama to Montgomery in support of voter rights.
