What happened to the NY Republicans who supported gay marriage?
New York Times columnist Bill Keller, who wrote about the fate of the Republicans who voted in favor of gay marriage in New York state, shares details from his research. Keller says he focused on these Republicans, because they represented parts of New York that are “real America” and because some conservatives put a target on their backs. Since they broke with ranks, it was considered a “hideous act of betrayal.”
