Rick Perry is sticking to the plan, making his first appearance on the national debate stage tomorrow.
"He plans to be there," Perry spokesman Mark Miner told The Hill.com this afternoon. There have questions on whether or not he would end up making the scheduled trip to the Reagan Presidential Library in California for the Republican debate, which is co-sponsored by NBC and Politico.
Over the weekend, Perry skipped out on a few campaign stops in South Carolina and New Hampshire to deal with the raging wildfires back in his home state. (Probably not the best time to cut the Texas fire department by 75 percent). Those blazes killed at least two people and destroyed more than 1,000 homes.
All eyes will be on Perry, the new Republican frontrunner. A new NBC News-Wall Street Journal poll currently shows him leading the GOP pack by 15-points over Willard M. Romney and Michele Bachmann. While he's got public speaking down, he's somewhat of a newbie on the debate scence. Perry only participated in four debates during his decade as Governor.
We'll bring you the live debate Wednesday at 8pm ET on msnbc.
