Glenn Beck: conservative radio host, author… and fashion icon. That’s right, starting today Beck’s own line of men’s jeans are for sale. And a pair will only cost you $129.99.
Beck denounced Levi’s last year after they aired a commercial he said used “global revolutions and progressivism to sell their products.” Then in July, the former Fox News host announced his own clothing line, 1791.com, as an alternative to Levi’s. “The Levis that you now buy in the shelves, regular Levis, that’s all made in China. Because they’re working with and for China. And they’re going to be the progressive uniform, you know.”
The apparent selling point of Beck’s jeans is that they are “100% Made in the USA.” According to the product description on 1791.com,
"Our premium ring-spun selvage denim jeans our 100% Made in the USA… woven in Greensboro, North Carolina at Cone Denim Mills. They are cut and sewn in Kentucky in a factory that has been operating since the late 1920's… Each pair of jeans has been painstakingly constructed by America's most skilled denim craftsmen to create an honest pair of jeans."
