First Word: Obama tours Jersey Shore with Christie

As the summer tourism season gets underway, President Obama reunited with New Jersey Gov.

As the summer tourism season gets underway, President Obama reunited with New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie Tuesday to check in on the recovery effort along the Hurricane Sandy-ravaged shoreline.

While touring the famed Boardwalk, Obama and Christie played "Touchdown Fever," an arcade game that involves throwing a football through a tire. According to the pool reporters, the president tried five times without success. But, Christie scored a touchdown in one shot, afterwards declaring “One and done!” Obama responded, "That's ‘cause he's running for office!"

The popular Republican governor has been touting the Jersey Shore as a destination that’s back in business as part of the state’s $25 million marketing campaign to get tourists back on the beach.
