msnbc's rolling live coverage of the Iowa Caucuses technically begins at 6 p.m. ET (er... now!).

msnbc's rolling live coverage of the Iowa Caucuses technically begins at 6 p.m. ET (er... now!). Arguably the coverage has been live and rolling all day, but 6 p.m. is when we stop breaking it into separate shows.

So Rachel will anchor from the New York City studio, joined by Ed Schultz, Lawrence O'Donnell, Rev. Al Sharpton and Steve Schmidt, who ran the McCain Palin campaign in 2008.

Chris Matthews will be checking in from Des Moines, Iowa.

Chris Hayes picks up coverage at midnight ET until 2 a.m.
