Secret Service Grilling

Ted Nugent said he’s “looking forward” to being questioned by the Secret Service on Thursday, at a meeting he describes as a “little barbecue get-together.” The rocker and Mitt Romney supporter caught the attention of agents after he told a National Rifle Association Conference last weekend that “if Barack Obama becomes the president in November again, I will either be dead or in jail by this time next year.”

Nugent told Glenn Beck during an interview Wednesday that he has “never threatened anybody’s life in my life. I don’t threaten, I don’t waste breath threatening.”

The Romney Campaign has tried to distance itself from Nugent’s comments, saying “divisive language is offensive no matter what side of the political aisle it comes from.”

The rocker has a long history of using inflammatory language about Democrats, but it doesn’t appear the Secret Service investigation will change anything. In that same interview with Beck, Nugent called DNC Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz a “Che Guevara fan” and “lunatic fringe.”
