A Maryland man selected to be a delegate for Donald Trump has been indicted on charges of child pornography as well as the illegal possession of a machine gun and the illegal transportation of explosives.
The Department of Justice announced Thursday that Caleb Andrew Bailey of Waldorf, Maryland, had been indicted by a federal grand jury. He is charged with using a minor to produce child pornography for a period of time from March 2015 to January 2016, as well as with possessing child pornography.

Authorities investigated Bailey after he allegedly attempted to mail a package containing weapons and explosive materials. When authorities raided his home in May, they seized a machine gun.
A spokesman for the Maryland Republican Party confirmed to NBC News that the same individual slated to be a Trump delegate from the fifth congressional district is the one referenced in the DOJ report. Bailey won the slot by being directly elected on Maryland's ballot last month.
"We strongly condemn these allegations and leave it in the capable hands of law enforcement," spokesman Hope Hicks said Thursday. "He will be replaced immediately."
It's not the first time that Trump's campaign has faced questions about a delegate. A self-described white nationalist was selected as a delegate for his campaign in California. The campaign said that the delegate, William Johnson, was included on the list by mistake, and Johnson later told NBC News that he would not attend the convention because he understood the "negative baggage" of his views.
Bailey could face a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison for the weapons charges and between 15-30 years for the production of child pornography.
