Santorum: I've been scrubbed and scoured; there are no surprises

2012 GOP candidate Rick Santorum: “I’ve been through this before. I’ve been in very tough races in Pennsylvania…I’ve been scrubbed and scoured, and people know if there’s anything out there, it’s out there. And that’s a good thing. There’s no surprises, and I’ve got a strong, consistent conservative record. I’ve been married one time with seven children. I live a pretty boring life except for the fact we have seven children. That keeps us pretty busy. But there’s really authenticity here [with me]. I don’t claim to be anything but what I am. The people of Iowa over the course of these last few months have been sizing up the candidates and looking for someone that they can trust. [Someone] that’s gonna go out there and fight the battles and be the sharp contrast to Barack Obama. And now that folks are making that decision, they’re coming to the guy that has the best and strongest record and strongest plan to get this country going. I’ve been laying that plan out, and it’s been getting a positive response.”
