George W. Bush gave another unexpected interview, speaking on the Golf Channel about the President Obama's golf habit—and telling his critics to lay off.
"I see our president criticized for playing golf. I don't. I think he ought to play golf," the former president said in an exclusive Golf Channel interview. "Because I know what it's like to be in the bubble. I know the pressures of the job, and to be able to get outside and play golf with some of your pals is important for the president. It does give you an outlet."
In a preview of the interview released on Monday night, the network estimates that Obama has played more than 140 rounds of golf during his presidency. Bush played significantly less golf while in office (though took significantly more vacation days); he quit playing golf during his first term because of the war.
