Sights and sounds from Election Day Eve

The presidential race is coming down to the wire.

The presidential race is coming down to the wire.

President Obama and Mitt Romney made a slew of stops and last-minute pleas to American voters on Election Day Eve.

Obama was in Wisconsin, Iowa and Ohio—where a total of 34 electoral votes are up for grabs. Romney, meanwhile, also stopped in Ohio, in addition to Florida, Virginia, and New Hampshire.

On Monday evening, Team Romney announced it was making last-minute stops on Election Day in Ohio and Pennsylvania.

National polls show the two candidates neck and neck, though Obama holds a slim lead in state polls. A final NBC/Wall Street Journal survey showed Obama with 48% of likely voters compared to Romney’s 47%. That fell within the poll’s margin of error of plus or minus 2.55 percentage points.
