President makes barbecue pit-stop

Before leaving Texas, President Obama made a stop for a Lone Star State staple… barbecue!

The president paid a visit to one of the most popular BBQ joints in Austin, Franklin Barbecue, where he wanted to pick up some take-out for his flight home on Air Force One. Obama offered to buy lunch for all of those ahead of him in line…but that meant checking on his “credit.”

“Is this card still good?” the president shouted to his top aide, Marvin Nicholson, referring to his VISA card.

“Yes, sir,” Nicholson confirmed.

The president went on to order five orders of brisket, sausage and turkey for his staff. The cashier also managed to appeal to Obama’s sweet tooth, convincing him to take home two slices of pecan pie and two slices of key lime pie. (Let’s just hope the First Lady, who always promotes healthy eating, doesn’t hear about that!)

But before Obama left Franklin Barbecue, many diners were able to snap a photo and posted the surprise visit on Twitter. Take a look at some of the shots below:
