Gang Warfare! The clock’s ticking, and the debt ceiling debate is still going strong, just two weeks shy of the Aug. 2 deadline.

Gang Warfare! The clock’s ticking, and the debt ceiling debate is still going strong, just two weeks shy of the Aug. 2 deadline. The Gang of Six has a plan on the table—it’s crafted by members of both parties and President Obama stands behind its main tenets—but Tea Party Republicans are still saying “no deal!” How much longer can this go on?  Gang of Six member Sen. Mark Warner (D-VA) joins us tonight, as does Rep. Mick Mulvaney (R-SC), co-author of the “Cut, Cap and Balance” bill that passed in the House yesterday evening.

Then—What would Reagan do? The Former President lauded by today’s Republican Party actually raised taxes 11 times and raised the debt ceiling 18 times! Would Reagan’s Republican Party look more like today’s GOP… or like today’s Democratic Party? We pose the question to Former RNC Chair Michael Steele and Salon’s Joan Walsh.

And don’t miss tonight’s story on voting rights leading up to the 2012 race! Republican governors and legislatures are re-writing voting eligibility rules in dozens of states across the country, making it harder for traditionally Democratic constituents like college students and minorities to vote. We’ll debate the issue with The Heartland Institute’s Horace Cooper and The Advancement Project’s Judith Browne-Dianis.

Plus—Tonight we’ll take a close look into the life of Barack Obama Senior with Sally Jacobs, Boston Globe reporter and author of “The Other Barack: The Bold and Reckless Life of President Obama’s Father.” Tune in!
