President Obama promised that his administration would be the most transparent ever, but the Justice Department's investigation in to the Associated Press call into question its motives in reintroducing a journalist shield law.
“It’s clear from the scope of the investigation that this was designed to intimidate,” Shayana Kadidal, senior managing attorney of the Guantánamo Global Justice Initiative at the Center for Constitutional Rights said on Up with Steve Kornacki. Kadidal and fellow panelists Joy-Ann Reid, Jamelle Bouie and Bob Herbert discussed the shield law, the problems with the government's argument for investigating the AP, and whether anything can be done about it.
