Romney: No plans to nix 'all of health care reform'

Mitt Romney admitted over the weekend he has no intention of rewriting all of Obama's signature health care law.

"I'm not getting rid of all of health care reform. Of course there are a number of things that I like in healthcare reform that I'm going to put in place," said Romney during an eye-brow raising interview on NBC's Meet The Press. "One is to make sure that those with pre-existing conditions can get coverage. Two is to assure that the marketplace allows for individuals to have policies that cover their family up to whatever age they might like."

The Republican presidential nominee has repeatedly stated he plans to "repeal Obamacare" and replace it with his own laws. He suggested on MTP some more popular elements would remain in tact — a potential draw for swing voters.

"I also want individuals to be able to buy insurance, health insurance, on their own as opposed to only being able to get it on a tax advantage basis through their company," said the former governor of Massachusetts.

While campaigning in Florida, President Obama attacked the premise of putting health care on the shoulders of the individual. "Their basic idea is that since government can't do everything, it should do almost nothing," said Obama. "If you can't afford health insurance, hope you don't get sick."
