McCain debunks torture myths

Tonight we’ll talk about John McCain’s op-ed and statements on the Senate floor that debunk the claims that torture helped to track down bin Laden.

This important development, at a time when 43% of Americans say torture is sometimes justified, further discredits Bush apologists who claim torture was an effective tactic.

Not only did those methods fail, but the idea that the former president deserves recognition for the recent victory is incongruous. We saw this montage on Think Progress.  It does a great job of recounting how Bush let bin Laden slip through the cracks:
