As we all hunker down for what could be one of the most politically contentious summers in recent memory, the July 4 break is an opportunity for all of us — left, right and that increasingly elusive center — to focus not on what divides us, but on what unites us.
And I’m someone who firmly believes that deep down, we all really do love America, the land of opportunity, this bastion of democracy, the country that gave us the light bulb, the airplane and that app that makes your digital photos look old-timey.
