'Occupy Our Homes'

In a Day of Action protesting home foreclosures, Occupy Wall Street groups around the country marched to reclaim vacant or foreclosed homes for homeless families. In the photo above, OWS marched to East New York, Brooklyn, where it toured foreclosed homes in the area and occupied a reportedly bank-owned, abandoned home, cleaned and repaired by volunteers, for a single mother of two children.

(Out of curiousity, I looked up the address of the occupied house on Realtor.com and Trulia [the photo above is not the one that was reclaimed for the family]). They don't note abandonment or foreclosure, but it's interesting to see that the last time it was sold was in 2007 for nearly twice its current value - a familiar circumstance in this crisis.)
