Monday's Campaign Round-Up, 7.13.15

Today's installment of campaign-related news items from across the country.
Today's installment of campaign-related news items that won't necessarily generate a post of their own, but may be of interest to political observers:

* A new national Monmouth poll shows Jeb Bush leading the Republican presidential field with 15% support, followed by Donald Trump at 13%. No other candidate is in double digits, though Ted Cruz is a close third with 9%, followed by Scott Walker and Mike Huckabee, who are tied at 7% each. Marco Rubio, Ben Carson and Rand Paul are all tied for sixth place with 6% each.

* In GOP fundraising news, Rubio raised $12 million in the second quarter, which raised his overall total to $44 million when his super PAC and non-profit are included.

* Rand Paul raised $7 million in the second quarter. The Republican senator's allied super PAC has not yet released its totals.

* Rick Perry raised just $1 million, but his super PAC has raised nearly $17 million.

* Ohio Gov. John Kasich hasn't yet announced his Republican presidential campaign, but an allied advocacy group, New Day for America, raised about $11.5 million through the end of June.

* Lincoln Chafee's Democratic presidential campaign is off to a rough start: he raised less than $30,000 in the last quarter. The Rhode Islander did, however, loan himself $364,000 to help finance his operation.

* A half-dozen GOP presidential candidates addressed the National Right to Life conference on Friday. Of particular interest was Rick Santorum, who rhetorically asked the crowd, "When did it become the law of the land that the Supreme Court has the final say on everything?"

* And on Friday, Ben Carson told Fox News it's "possible" he'd consider Donald Trump as a running mate. The retired right-wing neurosurgeon described Trump as "fun" and "very smart."
