Today's installment of campaign-related news items that won't necessarily generate a post of their own, but may be of interest to political observers:

* Wisconsin's Republican presidential primary is tomorrow, and PPP shows Mitt Romney leading Rick Santorum in the state, 43% to 36%.

* Speaking of Wisconsin, Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett (D) has decided to run in the recall election against Gov. Scott Walker (R), but will first run in a primary against former Dane County Executive Kathleen Falk (D).

* In Massachusetts' closely watched U.S. Senate race, a new Boston Globe poll shows incumbent Sen. Scott Brown (R) narrowly leading Elizabeth Warren (D), 37% to 35%. More than one-in-four voters remain undecided.

* Rick Santorum told "Meet the Press" yesterday that he'll stand down if Romney gets to 1,144 delegates. "If Gov. Romney gets that required number, then without a doubt, if he's at that number, we'll step aside," Santorum said. Of course, if Romney gets to 1,144, Santorum's willingness to step aside or not will be irrelevant.

* The floodgates are starting to open when it comes to GOP endorsements, with Sen. Ron Johnson (R) of Wisconsin throwing his support to Romney yesterday.

* While a win in Wisconsin would help wrap up the Republican process tomorrow, Romney's super PAC is nevertheless buying television ad time in the five states that hold primaries on April 24.

* And while Santorum's odds of pulling off an upset in Wisconsin aren't great, his campaign has launched one more, last-minute ad that characterizes Romney as a liberal.
