Yeah... So.... Um... this exists? Apparently this GIANT statue of a woman bathing will be on display in Hamburg's Alster Lake for the next week or so. Adding to it's peculiarity is what it is being called- "The Mermaid." There aren't a whole lot of rules about fictional mythical creatures, but I do believe that having knees disqualifies one from being called a "Mermaid."
A more appropriate title may be "The Birthing One" or even "At the Ready." (I'm not the only one who is thinking that, right?)
Reminds me of this similarly creepy yet cool sculpture that used to be on display in Virginia Washington, D.C..
