Friday's Campaign Round-Up, 6.5.15

Today's installment of campaign-related news items from across the country.
Today's installment of campaign-related news items that won't necessarily generate a post of their own, but may be of interest to political observers:

* After Jeb Bush's official announcement on June 15, the Florida Republican will start a national tour of sorts, hitting New Hampshire on June 16, Iowa on June 17, South Carolina on June 18, and Nevada on June 27.

* Ohio Gov. John Kasich (R), campaigning in New Hampshire yesterday, made a rather provocative point about Bush: "I didn't think I was going to be back up here again because frankly, I thought Jeb was just going to suck all the air out of the room, and it just hasn't happened."

* Rick Perry's super PAC isn't wasting any time, buying nearly $170,000 in television airtime this week, focused specifically on two Iowa media markets.

* Speaking of super PACs, Martin O'Malley's Generation Forward is also buying some airtime in Iowa, with a new ad targeting Hillary Clinton and Jeb Bush, but it's a modest, $25,000 ad buy, suggesting it'll reach a relatively small audience.

* Speaking of O'Malley, while the former Maryland governor is clearly running for president as a progressive voice, in 2007, he co-authored an op-ed with then-DLC Chairman Harold Ford Jr., about the importance of Democrats "capturing the center."

* Most of the leading Republican presidential candidates have their own billionaire, but will Lindsey Graham? Maybe. Ronald O. Perelman, the cosmetics billionaire and a major political donor, is apparently quite impressed with the South Carolina Republican, though it's unclear to what degree that will translate into financial backing.

* And in Indiana, state schools Superintendent Glenda Ritz (D) launched her gubernatorial campaign yesterday, hoping to take on incumbent Gov. Mike Pence (R). Ritz, who enters a growing Democratic primary field, has one important thing going for her: she's currently the only Democrat elected to statewide office in Indiana.
