The grand jury reviewing evidence in the case is expected to make a decision soon.

“There’s clearly racial divides all across the country. But I didn’t see the divide in our community so much as race, but a lot of it is socioeconomic,” Mayor James Knowles said

“That ugliness is not representative of Missouri and it cannot be repeated,” he continued

“These additional resources will support law enforcement’s efforts to maintain peace and protect those exercising their right to free speech,” Nixon said.

"We purchase these items in hopes that we never have to use any of them,” St. Louis County Police Department spokesman Sgt. Brian Schellman told The Guardian.
