It has been described as an intelligence jackpot….the documents, hard drives and other items seized in the raid that killed Osama bin Laden.
But one item is still missing, at least for some: a final photo that confirms the Al Qaeda founder is dead.
While that photo does exist, there are signs of a split within the Obama administration over its release. Press Secretary Jay Carney called the images “gruesome” and potentially “inflammatory”, while CIA director Leon Panetta expressed strong support for distributing them. Council on Foreign Relations president Richard Haass offered some perspective to the Morning Joe team.
UPDATE: The Obama Administration has announced it will not release any photos of Osama bin Laden.
