In Memphis, “police officers went door to door Friday urging Memphis residents to leave nearly 1,000 homes expected to be inundated by a near-record flood of the Mississippi River and its tributaries.”

The April jobs report was released. The good news is that 244,000 jobs were created last month. The bad news? Unemployment inched up a bit to 9 percent.

The president traveled to Fort Campbell, Ky., and he thanked the Navy SEALs who killed bin Laden.
