I was honored to invite Mona Eltahawy to join the show on Saturday. Her provocative article from Foreign Policy is a must read for your homework. Jacqueline Pata, executive director of the National Congress of American Indians, highlighted the specific ways that domestic violence and sexual assault impact Native American women. On Sunday’s show, we tackled the difficult ethical and policy issues associated with the death penalty. To learn more about how Americans have thought about the death penalty throughout our history as a nation read this insightful text, "America's Death Penalty: Between Past and Present."
And as we noted earlier, riots gripped Los Angeles in the aftermath of the non-guilty verdict of officers whose vicious beating of Rodney King was caught on tape. Rodney King has written a new book, "The Riot Within: My Journey from Rebellion to Redemption."
