The San Francisco Giants made history on Sunday night. The underdogs clinched in a 4-3, 10-inning win, defeating the Detroit Tigers on their own turf.

Sitting somewhat incognito in a Detroit Tigers baseball hat, scarf and light jacket was Ann Romney.

The former first lady of Massachusetts, who grew up in Michigan, made the unscheduled stop ahead of two campaign events on Monday. No one doubts that Mrs. Romney cheered her loudest for her home team, but it would seem that not even Mitt Romney’s “most effective” campaigner could work her magic.

And although the latest polls now show President Obama and Mitt Romney in a statistical dead heat , according to the Washington Post “history as well as recent public polling is on the Democrat’s side.”

So if the history books are right, and the historical defeat of the Detroit Tigers is any proof, not even the presence of Ms. Romney will allow Willard his own historic sweep of the Wolverine state.
