All In agenda: Exclusive interview with Secretary of State John Kerry

Watch All In with Chris Hayes Thursday night for a very special exclusive interview with Secretary of State John Kerry. Hayes will speak with Secretary Kerry about the situation in Syria as Congress considers authorizing the use of force against the Syrian regime. Kerry, along with President Obama and other administration officials, are arguing for intervention in the wake of the reported use of chemical weapons by Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.

Later, Col. Lawrence Wilkerson, former Chief of Staff for Secretary of State Colin Powell, and John Stanton, Washington, D.C. Bureau Chief for BuzzFeed, will join the table to discuss Secretary Kerry’s statements and the case for taking action in Syria.

While the Secretary of State is focused on fighting back against human rights atrocities abroad, the civil rights of certain Americans at home are being threatened. Earlier this summer, civil rights lawyers filed a suit against the New York Police Department and Mayor Michael Bloomberg for allegedly spying on Muslim New Yorkers. The NYPD program, first exposed in 2011, puts Muslims under surveillance, which the plaintiffs argue constitutes unconstitutional profiling. Just last week, AP Investigative Reporters Matt Apuzzo and Adam Goldman, also authors of the book Enemies Within: Inside the NYPD’s Secret Spying Unit and bin Laden’s Final Plot Against America, revealed that the NYPD has been secretly labeling entire mosques as terrorist organizations. Police are able to spy on imams, record sermons, and investigate members who attend services using this tactic, without bringing any specific criminal charges. Apuzzo and Goldman will join Chris Hayes to talk about the NYPD’s spying program, intelligence gathering in the U.S., and civil rights.
