* Supreme Court: "The Supreme Court on Friday temporarily blocked the enforcement of a Louisiana abortion restriction that would have left the state with only one doctor that performs abortions, just days after it heard a challenge to a similar law in Texas."
* No good can come of this: "North Korean leader Kim Jong Un ordered his military on standby for nuclear strikes at any time, state media reported Friday, but U.S. officials said there was no evidence that it had prepared to deploy any such weapons."
* Central Africa: "Boko Haram, the Islamist extremist group terrorizing this part of the world, is on the hunt -- for food. After rampaging across the region for years, forcing more than two million people to flee their homes and farms, Boko Haram appears to be falling victim to a major food crisis of its own creation."
* In brief remarks regarding the new job numbers, President Obama said this morning, "The facts don't lie. And I think it's useful, given that there seems to be an alternative reality out there from some of the political folks that America is down in the dumps. It's not. America is pretty darn great right now."
* Flint: "While Michigan's Republican Governor is busying retaining outside counsel over the poisoning of Flint's water supply, Utah Republican Senator Mike Lee is quietly blocking federal funding to the city -- the lone senator daring to do so in Congress."
* Good thinking: "The Indiana House has approved a bill that would codify into law Gov. Mike Pence's statewide expansion of Medicaid under President Barack Obama's signature health care overhaul. The measure was approved on a 61-33 vote Thursday. It now goes back to the Senate, where changes made by the House will be considered."
* Good to know: "The Mexican government has formally responded to Donald Trump's demand that it pay for his proposed wall, and the answer is an emphatic 'No.' 'Mexico will under no circumstance pay for the wall that Mr. Trump is proposing,' Mexican Treasury Secretary Luis Videgaray said Wednesday, according to The Associated Press."
