Republican House Speaker John Boehner on Monday publicly stated his belief that he will be re-elected later this year.
"I expect to be speaker," he said at an event in San Anotonio, according to an article in The Washington Post.
"This issue comes up from time to time. I have a very good relationship with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle. Even in my party, even with some people with which we have disagreement almost every day, I have a good relationship with them as well," he added.

But, mentioning his age (65), Boehner didn't promise serving a full-term if re-elected in November.
"I never thought I'd live to be 60 so I’m living on borrowed time," he said.
Boehner also said he won't run for president in 2016 nor will he endorse a potential candidate.
