The House Sergeant-at-Arms is the Chamber's top law enforcement official. He's responsible for maintaining security on the House floor and enforcing protocol during House proceedings. But the Sergeant-at-Arms' most prominent job is introducing the president at the start of the State of the Union.
Wilson "Bill" Livingood is the 35th Sergeant-at-Arms and has been in that position since 1985.
