It will be the more and merrier at the White House this Thanksgiving with First Lady Michelle Obama's invitation to the Oregon State men's basketball team to share the holiday in Washington, D.C.
Obama's older brother, Craig Robinson, the team's head coach, received the invitation on Election Day as he and his family watched voter results in Chicago with President Obama, the Register Guard reported. Robinson said team members will participate in a service day with the first family before enjoying an early dinner.
Although Robinson tries to schedule games for the team in Washington, D.C. around the holidays, he told the Register Guard that this year it wouldn't be possible so Michelle Obama suggested the "cultural field trip".
"None of the schedules worked out," Robinson said to the paper. "When I told my sister...she was absolutely heartbroken, so instead, she invited the whole team out for Thanksgiving."
As is the custom, President Obama will pardon a turkey for Thanksgiving but has no public schedule for the rest of the holiday.
