Creator of 1619 Project on slavery faces backlash after Pulitzer
Ida B. Wells and Nikole Hannah-Jones were just awarded the Pulitzer Prize for journalism in 2020. Both African-America women, Wells received her award posthumously for her coverage of lynching in America during during the late 1800s, while Jones was awarded for her 1619 Project about the legacy of slavery.
