Republican congressman urges Obama to make case on Syria

Republican Congressman Eric Messer of Indiana joined MSNBC’s Alex Witt Sunday to discuss what the future may hold on the issue of possibly striking Syria.

Republican Congressman Eric Messer of Indiana joined MSNBC’s Alex Witt Sunday to discuss what the future may hold on the issue of possibly striking Syria.

“Either what happened in Syria is a big deal or not and if it is a big deal, then we need to act now,”  Messer said.

Even though Messer said that he supports Obama’s decision to attack Syria, he said that the “delay doesn’t send urgency” to Congress, the American people and even Assad’s Regime.

Now that the President has agreed to let congress vote on whether military action in Syria occurs, "the [the president] needs to abide by that vote, this should not just be a charade,” Messer said.
