The New York Times reports that House Speaker John Boehner has tapped losing vice-presidential candidate Paul Ryan "to help strike a deal" in the fiscal cliff negotiations, despite President Obama's strong criticisms of the first and second versions of the Ryan-Republican budget and the resounding Romney-Ryan defeat at the ballot box.
