An unusually bright meteor shot across the sky in Central Texas Saturday around 8:45pm CST.

The American Meteor Society (AMS) received more than 300 reports about the bright fireball over San Antonio. Some described it as "an extremely bright green light that rivaled the brightness of the sun." According to AMS, "this meteor was at least four feet wide, weighed about 4,000 pounds and burned five times brighter than a full moon."

Watch these videos that purportedly caught the image of the meteor on camera Saturday night:  Guy Parker caught this image in a Viralhog video.  A Hewitt Police Department dash cam caught this image on video.
