Rick Santorum is suffering a similar fate as Mitt Romney. He’s destined to be overshadowed by the day’s news cycle.
The same day the former Massachusetts governor announced his plans to enter the 2012 race, Sarah Palin swept into New England on her bus, stealing the spotlight by spouting historical fiction and running away from reporters.
She’s since apologized to Romney, saying "I apologize if I stepped on any of that PR that Mitt Romney needed or wanted that day," Palin said in an interview with Chris Wallace. "I do sincerely apologize. We didn't mean to step on anybody's toes." Though, she did not take back her comments on Paul Revere.
Today, former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum, once the Number 3 Republican in the Senate, announced he’s seeking the GOP nomination for president, vowing he's "in it to win." Just by chance, Anthony Weiner, the Democratic Congressman from New York, decides to call a press conference in which he admitted to sending a scandalous pics on Twitter.

With the über social conservative’s track record as an anti-gay marriage, anti-abortion and anti-embryonic stem cell research, he’ll definitely get attention. At the very least, he’ll likely find a guest spot in The Last Word’s Rewrite. It just won’t be today.
