After sweeping up a trio of primary wins, the inevitability of a Mitt Romney nomination is growing. NBC News declared the former Massachusetts governor as the winner in Wisconsin and Maryland, topping Rick Santorum, his closest Republican rival, along with Newt Gingrich and Ron Paul. And in Washington D.C. where Rick Santorum was not on the ballot, Romney walked away with an easy win.Santorum vowed to press on, saying it's only "halftime" in the GOP primary. Personally, I would characterize it more as overtime — the game's over, buddy. Good job, but get off the field.
Romney, switching up gears for the election campaign, focused on President Obama, in a victory speech in Wisconsin."The president has pledged to 'transform America,' and he has spent the last four years laying the foundation for a new government-centered society," Romney said on Tuesday night. "I will spend the next four years rebuilding the foundation of our Opportunity Society, led by free people and free enterprises."And free sandwiches!
