Though former Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty isn't doing so hot in Iowa right now, he is (in The Last Word's opinion) leading the pack in the straw poll for super-awesome political ads. We all remember his heartfelt video announcing the creation of his Presidential exploratory committee and we continue to be haunted by the Dark Knight-esque ad he released the day President Obama announced he was running for re-election.
However, yesterday the campaign posted a new video called "Experience Matters" and let's just say it's the perfect combination of fear, patriotism, scary end-of-the world music, and even a surprise audio clip from the host of our show, Lawrence O'Donnell. The theme of the spot is the lack of leadership from the White House and let's just say there is no shortage of shots of dramatic Presidential podiums. This morning, the DNC released a statement in response to the ad.
Politics aside, you cannot help being sucked in by Pawlenty's latest video message. One has to wonder, how are these nuggets of cinematic genius not getting candidate Pawlenty more of a boost in Iowa?
