Late night comedian Jimmy Kimmel has been hosting Jimmy Kimmel Live in Brooklyn this week, and last night he visited Levels Barbershop on Fulton Street in the Clinton Hill neighborhood to ask some locals how Mitt Romney could boost his popularity among black voters. Kimmel noted Romney's poor numbers at the polls - an August NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll showed 94% of African Americans favor President Obama.
Kimmel showed up in a Brooklyn Nets jacket, winning over the barbershop's patrons, owners and employees. The Levels crowd had plenty of suggestions for Romney, including "turn black" and "drop out of the race." Kimmel then laid out his follow-up question, "How many of you are Mormons?" and was greeted with an awkward silence.
Kimmel concluded by speculating, "I have a feeling that the Romney camp and future Republican candidates are going to study this videotape to figure out where they went wrong... or maybe they won't at all."
