First Word: Explosions rock Boston Marathon

We're monitoring the breaking news out of Boston where where two explosions were reported at the marathon. We'll have the latest at 10pm ET.

Plus, the Manchin-Toomey bill to expand background checks is slowly picking up votes, but it's expected to be a close one in the Senate. Right now, at least four Republicans senators have committed to support it: Pat Toomey of Pennsylvania, Mark Kirk of Illinois, Susan Collins of Maine and John McCain of Arizona. Breaking with the powerful National Rifle Association, a pro-gun rights advocacy group, Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms, endorsed the measure.
