Republican leaders have told Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke to “resist further extraordinary intervention in the U.S. economy,” In a letter sent to Bernanke on Monday Republicans said more stimulus and steps meant to help the economy might make things worse. Today House Majority Leader Eric Cantor didn't back down telling reporters, "I think that many of us feel that some of the very loose monetary policy has had a negative effect as far as global confidence in our currency and ultimately in our economy," But today the Federal Reserve ramped up its aid to the U.S. economy launching an effort to put more downward pressure on long-term interest rates and increase it's support for housing.

We will have the latest on President Obama's jobs plan. Tomorrow the President is heading to Cincinnati to highlight his plan with the Brent Spence Bridge as his backdrop. He's specifically going to focus on our aging infrastructure and the importance of repairing it. The Brent Spence bridge has been deemed "functionally obsolete" by federal standards for years.
