President Obama is requesting a joint session of Congress next Wednesday at 8pm to outline his proposals to boost employment. It just so happens that a Republican Presidential debate is scheduled for the same time on msnbc. In a letter to congressional leaders the President said he wanted "to lay out a series of bipartisan proposals that the Congress can take immediately to continue to rebuild the American economy by strengthening small businesses, helping Americans get back to work, and putting more money in the paychecks of the middle class and working Americans.” White House Press Secretary Jay Carney said today that the timing of the speech was not meant to interfere with the Republican debate.
