Tea Party congressman: My double-amputee opponent talks too much about her military service

He’s never served in the military, but Tea Party freshman Rep.

He’s never served in the military, but Tea Party freshman Rep. Joe Walsh (R-IL) is attacking his opponent, a double-amputee Iraq War vet, over her military service.

Walsh, known for not paying child support, is being challenged by Lt. Col. Tammy Duckworth, who lost both her legs in Iraq and use of her right arm in 2004 when insurgents hit her helicopter with a rocket-propelled grenade.

At a town hall in Elk Grove on Sunday, Walsh argued that Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) was reluctant to discuss his own military service as the GOP presidential nominee in 2008, which made him a "noble hero."

McCain not only talked about his service in debates and interviews during the 2008 campaign, he even ran political ads about it.  But Walsh didn't let facts get in the way.

“Now I’m running against a woman who, my God, that’s all she talks about," Walsh said.

“Our true heroes, it’s the last thing in the world they talk about," Walsh continued.  "That’s why we’re so indebted and in awe of what they’ve done."

Here's the 15-minute version of the video:

Lt. Col. Duckworth will join Ed tonight to respond to Walsh’s unbelievable comments tonight at 8pET on The Ed Show on msnbc!
