Brand new research out of Harvard University shows Sarah Palin, Michele Bachmann and other Republicans were DEAD WRONG about those so-called "death panels."
The study, just published in The New England Journal of Medicine, reveals that when states increased Medicaid coverage, death rates dropped.
Take a look at this chart. Tthe green line shows coverage going up. The red line shows death rates going down:
But the U.S. Supreme Court ruled on June 28 that states can opt out of the health care law's Medicaid expansion, scheduled for 2014.
And about a dozen Republican governors are boasting that they will indeed do so. But if Medicaid expansion saves lives, then won't those governors become the real "death panel"?
